Team Lightning

The Lightning is centered around personal, athletic, and business development across a number of niches. We train individuals and organizations to better understand themselves at a deep level. Motivations, drives, and passions are explored to get the core of what they came here to do. From there we teach and guide them to channel those motivations toward a meaningful vison. We then develop them to the point where they can take their vision to the world and execute it.

Who am I? Well to be honest I am still trying to figure that out, I think we all are. What I do know is that I am here to reach my potential. I also believe that I am here to help you reach yours in the form of a Life Coach. Born curious, always questioning, and ignited with a deep burning desire to be joyous and free has always kept me reaching for more.

I graduated with a degree in Nutrition from the University of Arizona, however I more specifically identify with being a keen observer of the human experience. I believe that our own life experiences are our biggest teachers. In every moment there is a gift to further us on our path if we are willing to accept it. The choice to see and feel all that life has to offer is not always the easy one, however it is my knowing that it is the most rewarding. Each and every one of us has access to all of life’s answers, it is my desire for you to be curious and get to know yourself more completely so that you may participate in life more fully.

While on a journey to pursue my childhood dream of playing professional baseball I continued to experience surmounting obstacles along my path. In searching for clues to why, all signs directed me inward; the only place any of us can truly realize our limitless potential. The constant struggle always left me questioning what is my “Next Step?” That question has lead me to this present moment. This moment is powerful; can you feel it? I invite you to find your “Next Step” with me, as we all inch closer to answering the question “who am I?”

Some designs don’t grab your attention and don’t evoke any emotions. While others tell us a story, and are open to a person’s interpretation. They hold a different meaning to each of us and might change depending on where you are in life. This is what I try to do when I design. I try to tell that story, evoke emotions and touch people on a deeper level through my work. We all have a purpose in life and this is mine. This has been my destiny since I was born; I am a designer by day and a designer by night with many adventures along the way!

I graduated from The Illinois Institute of Art in 2008 with a degree in Graphic Design. I have worked for five different companies over the years creating anything from logos and packaging to trade show booths and everything in between. I have also worked with many freelance clients over the years, mainly logo design and packaging for small startups. I really enjoy doing what I do, but getting to work with someone on a personal level is what really makes it worthwhile! I have always wanted to do something to help people and through design I not only get to do that but I also get to help someone’s vision become a reality.

I am a Certified Natural Health Consultant, Certified health educator and a Reiki Master/Teacher. I have worked in the business world as well as the natural health world. I am an eternal student as well as teacher. I believe true healing to involve all the layers and levels we are: physical, mental, emotional, generational, and spiritual. I have a very curious nature and deep desire to shed light on healing processes by finding root imbalances.

My Personal Philosophy and Passion: Never let anyone define you. There are many things in this world that can confuse us, detain us, and feed us illusion. The main purpose and goals of our lives is to stay true to ourselves. In doing this we consciously choose to participate in authenticity. It is important to know ourselves so well that we are unshakeable on our ultimate path to higher consciousness. The challenge lies in believing the expectations others have placed on us is more important than our own personal sacred journey. When we truly connect to live beyond the surface and challenge our perceived limitations, we expand humanity. It is not selfish to hear the call of your truth. Truths do not change; they are always there, no matter how hard you try to cover them up. The pain, drama and stories lay within the writing of denial. I challenge you to live your best life and to inspire other to do the same, this is the way to become a village, a society, a culture, a humanity of peace and divineness.

I’ll be the first to admit that my road to the show was not all that I wanted it to be. I was a natural athlete coming out of high school and although I had a ton of talent, I did not possess the work ethic needed for the tough path I had ahead of me in pro ball. There was much hype surrounding me during my senior year of high school and all of that hype lead to a big ego. Ultimately, I was drafted in the 4th Round by the Cleveland Indians, and at 18 years old had $500,000 to my name. My competitiveness and raw natural ability had definitely taken me a long way thus far, but pro ball was a much bigger ladder to climb. I was always labeled as being projectable by scouts, and to me, that meant that one day everything would come together on its own. What I didn’t realize was the projection everyone anticipated had to come from hard work and dedication to mastering my craft.

I was forced to leave the game I love in 2011 due to career ending shoulder surgery. I have truly been humbled by this experience and made it my mission to inform and educate athletes on the specifics and small details that can lead to a long and prosperous career. I never want another athlete to come to the harsh reality that I experienced. My goal is to keep players in the game for as long as possible, or as long as they choose. Had I known the things I know now, who knows where I may be. However as with all things in life when one door closes, another opens. This other door opened to an even bigger passion of mine, which is coaching. I absolutely love what I now do and feel blessed to have gone through all of the ups and downs that have lead me to being a great coach and motivator.

Some may consider my methods “old school,” however I believe that hard work and dedication are essential components to achievement. These are the cornerstones in which I have built dominant youth programs ranging from 9u-18u since 2011. I currently reside in Charlotte, NC with my wife Haley and our daughter Oakley.

Chris Thielk
Business Coach

I went to Eastern Illinois University and majored in Sports Management with a minor in business administration. I achieved my master’s degree in Sports Administration at Eastern Illinois University as well. I have spent the last 5+ years doing Business Coaching/Consulting and am currently still doing that. I held the number 1 spot with my consulting company for 5 straight periods in 2016 which is a feat that has never been done. I have a strong philosophy of utilizing competition and praise to help in motivating employees to be more productive in the work place.

Clear communication is key and sometimes demonstrating over explaining tends to work best in getting results. I feel discipline is necessary in some cases but does not work in every situation and can be more demotivating than motivating if used incorrectly. Employees love to be praised and it motivates them to be better. I currently live in Chicago, IL and have lived in the state of Illinois all my life, but try to travel as often as possible to see the world. It’s too big of a world to not go out and see it!
